Box Score TACOMA, Washington – One day after sweeping George Fox, the Puget Sound volleyball team fell victim to a sweep at the hands of Willamette, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17-26-24), in Memorial Fieldhouse on Saturday evening.
The Loggers (11-5, 6-2 NWC) finished with a season-worst .025 hitting percentage, while the Bearcats (5-11, 3-5 NWC) hit at a .192 clip.
Hannah Stinson once again provided a steady hand attacking from the middle as she finished with a game-high 10 kills. However, Puget Sound struggled to attack from the outside.
Puget Sound appeared ready to turn the game around when it was on the brink of winning the third set. A kill by Kristen Lane gave the Loggers a 23-19 lead. Following three straight Willamette points, a kill by Kristen Miguel made it set-point for the Loggers. However, the Bearcats pieced together a 4-0 run to close the game.
Rachael Garrison tied for a game-high with 16 digs. Renee Kenneally led the Loggers with 14 assists, and Kayla Thaller followed with 13.
The Loggers look to bounce back at Lewis & Clark on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m.
