Box Score

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team started off the 2016-17 season in historic fashion as the Loggers beat Northwest Indian, 117-41, in Memorial Fieldhouse in Tuesday night.

The 76-point win is the largest margin of victory in program history. The previous record, 66 points, stood since the 1980-81 season, when Puget Sound beat Somona State, 132-66.

The Loggers' 117 points is Puget Sound's highest offensive output in regulation since a 118-88 win over Simpon in the 2008-09 season.

Four Loggers finished with double-doubles. Kohl Meyer nearly notched a triple-double, tallying 15 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Zach Miller pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds to go with 13 points.

Jeremiah Hobbs and Stellan Roberts both double-doubled in their Puget Sound debuts. Hobbs, who had eight points and eight rebounds at halftime, finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Roberts posted 10 and 10.

The Loggers were lethal from behind the arc, shooting 12-for-23. Gabriel Chaikin connected on three of four 3-point attempts for 15 points. Easton Driessen, who scored a game-high 21 points, went 3-for-5 from downtown.

Puget Sound hosts the McArthur Classic, Nov. 18-19. The Loggers take on Evergreen State on Friday at 8 p.m.
