Loggers fall to L&C in season finale

PORTLAND, Oregon – The Puget Sound women's soccer team fell to Lewis & Clark, 1-0, in the season finale on Sunday afternoon.

The Loggers (13-4-3, 10-3-3 NWC) and Pioneers (6-12-2, 5-9-2 NWC) played an offensive first half, with the two teams combining for 13 shots, including eight on goal. Despite Puget Sound outshooting L&C in the period, 8-5, the home team took the lead in the 43rd minute. Isobel Fikso scored for the Pioneers on a free kick.

Puget Sound came out from halftime and pressed for a goal, taking nine shots in the second half. However, Pioneer goalkeeper, Hannah Osmundson, made seven saves in the game to keep the Loggers off the scoreboard.  

Puget Sound outshot Lewis & Clark, 17-7, and also took more corner kicks (7-2). Goalkeeper Lauren Thomas (13-4-3) played all 90 minutes, making three saves. Gabbie Berg and Grayson Williams-Krebs led the Loggers with five shots each.
