Four score in double figures, Loggers fall to Tigers

TACOMA, Washington – Four players scored in double figures, but the Puget Sound women's basketball team fell to Trinity, 68-65, on Saturday afternoon, for the Loggers' first loss of the season.  

Alexis Noren, Caitlin Malvar, and Jamie Lange all scored 12 points to lead the Loggers, while Elizabeth Prewitt chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds.  

The Tigers (8-0) took a 5-4 lead halfway through the first quarter, and Puget Sound (7-1) was forced to play catchup the rest of the game. Trinity led 14-8 after the first quarter, and 30-25 at halftime. After falling behind by 10 points in the fourth quarter, to less than five multiple times, but ultimately could not come closer than three points.  

Puget Sound shot 44.3 percent from the field, while Trinity shot 50.0 percent. The Loggers were 7-for-25 (28.0 percent) from beyond the arc. The Tigers were 2-for-12 (16.7 percent) on 3-point shots. Puget Sound held a 40-25 rebounding edge.

Puget Sound will try to get back on the winning track when they play Buena Vista on Sunday, December 18. The game, being held at PLU, is scheduled to tipoff at 2 p.m.
