Women's soccer beats Whitman, 2-0, on Senior Day

Box Score

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's soccer team celebrated its senior class with a 2-0 win over Whitman on East Field Sunday afternoon. The Loggers close out the weekend with their seventh consecutive win, and Puget Sound is unbeaten in its last 11 contests.

Before the game, the Loggers honored three seniors and their families: Jacquelyn Anderson, Emmy Owens, and Sierra Scott.

Tess Peppis scored the Loggers' (12-3-3, 10-2-2) first goal just over three minutes into the game. Peppis buried a shot from the top-right corner of the 18-yard box into the top-left corner of the goal.

The Loggers got an insurance goal in the 79th minute. Emily Prasil carried the ball up the left sideline, and crossed the ball into the box. Gabbie Berg fooled the defense by pretending the play the ball, but she let the pass go and Genevieve Cheatham was there to bury an easy shot.

Jamie Lange recorded eight saves as the Loggers defense kept the opposition off the board for the 11th time this season.

Puget Sound next plays at Willamette on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 12 p.m.
