Cheatham nets game-winner in season-finale

FOREST GROVE, OregonGenevieve Cheatham headed in the game-winning goal during the Puget Sound women's soccer team's 2-1 win at Pacific Sunday afternoon. The Loggers notched 13 regular-season wins for the 18th consecutive season.

Tayla MacPherson lined up for a corner kick in the 71st minute, and Cheatham's header into the bottom corner of the goal broke a 1-1 tie.

The Boxers (1-15-3, 1-12-3 NWC) put just two shots on goal, one of which tied the scored, 1-1, in the 58th minute. 

Puget Sound (13-4-3, 11-3-2 NWC) took a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute thanks to Lura Morton's team-leading eighth goal of the season. The junior split a pair of Pacific defenders and buried a shot from five yards out.
