Box Score TACOMA, Washington – Jamie Lange notched her first double-double of the season as the Puget Sound women's basketball team beat Whitworth, 67-58, in Memorial Fieldhouse Friday night.
Lange led all players in both scoring and rebounding, finishing with 20 points and 14 boards. Mara Henderson scored 13 points for the Loggers (4-1, 1-0 NWC), as she has now scored in double figures for four consecutive games. Elizabeth Prewitt netted 10 points to go with six rebounds.
Puget Sound held a five-point lead, 36-31, over Whitworth (3-2, 0-1 NWC). The Loggers erupted for 30 points in the third quarter, outscoring the Pirates by 14 in the period.
The Loggers continued to dominate the glass and outrebounded Whitworth, 43-35. Although the Logger shot under 40 percent from the floor (39.4 percent), Puget Sound held Whitworth to 36.2 percent and forced 21 turnovers.
The Loggers next host No. 8/9 Whitman on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m.
