Lange posts 20-20 game in loss to Evergreen State

OLYMPIA, Washington –The Puget Sound women's basketball team fell to Evergreen State, 71-63, in Olympia, Wednesday evening.

Not only did Jamie Lange lead the Logger attack with 23 points, she also was one rebound shy from tying the Logger record for rebounds in a game at 22. 

The Loggers entered second quarter down, 19-10, with points by Kirstin Hafeman, Lange, Elizabeth Prewitt and Cassidy Daugherty.

Meghan Hamel kicked off second quarter with the first two points off a layup, but the Geoducks quickly retaliated. Evergreen extended their nine-point lead to 16 points by the end of the second quarter.

The Loggers entered the fourth quarter down, 57-38, but regrouped and was able to record the first five points of the final 10 minutes. Unfortunately, Evergreen continued to record points and re-extend their lead.

In the final four minutes Mara Henderson recorded a 3-pointer, reducing the Loggers deficit to single digits, 62-53. The two teams continued to exchange various baskets but Evergreen sealed their win by 12 points.

Puget Sound was 61.9 percent in free throws and had 50 rebounds compared to Evergreen's 43.

The Loggers take on Benedictine Saturday, December 16, at 2 p.m.
