Loggers overthrow Pioneers, 1-0, in Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon - The Puget Sound women's soccer team notched second conference win over Lewis & Clark, 1-0, in Portland, Saturday afternoon.

Puget Sound recorded the game-winner in the 36th minute when midfielder Tayla MacPherson shot from 18 yards out, netting the ball in the upper-right corner.

Both teams weren't shy to shoot, but Puget Sound out-shot Lewis & Clark, 14-9.

Pioneer goalkeeper Megan Sawyer recorded 10 saves, while Logger goalkeeper Jamie Lange only had to perform six.

MacPherson leads the Puget Sound offense with three goals this season.

The Loggers take on Whitworth in Spokane, Sunday, Sept. 30, at 12 p.m.
