Lange, Loggers power past Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, WashingtonJamie Lange's tenth double-double of the season propelled the Puget Sound women's basketball team to a 65-54 win over Pacific Lutheran in Memorial Fieldhouse Tuesday night. It was the Loggers' first home game since the first weekend of December.

 

 

Lange scored 16 points and pulled down 17 boards in the winning effort. Cassidy Daugherty and Elizabeth Prewitt both netted 13 points for the Loggers (7-9, 2-5 NWC).

Puget Sound held a narrow 48-47 lead at halftime, but the Lutes (4-12, 0-7 NWC) held tough through the third quarter. Pacific Lutheran's first lead of the second half came with 52 seconds remaining in the third, 47-45, but Prewitt hit a layup at the buzzer to even the score.

Layups by Daugherty and Prewitt early in the fourth quarter gave the Loggers a 52-48 edge, and they hold on to the lead for the rest of the game.

Puget Sound doubled up on the Lutes on the glass, 50-25. It marks the Loggers' fifth game with at least 50 rebounds this season.

The Loggers return home to host Lewis & Clark this Friday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m.
