Five Loggers score in double figures to beat Pacific Lutheran, 98-78

Box Score

TACOMA, Washington – Five Loggers scored in double figures as the Puget Sound men's basketball team beat Pacific Lutheran, 98-78, in Memorial Fieldhouse Tuesday night.

Both Jeremiah Hobbs and Zion Shepherd came up just short of double-doubles. Hobbs finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Shepherd recorded 10 points and nine boards for the Loggers (11-4, 4-3 NWC).

Jimmy Wohrer was Puget Sound's high scorer with 19 points, and Stellan Roberts closely followed with 18. Max Basile netted 13 points, finishing one point shy of his season-high.

Despite the large margin of victory over the Lutes (4-11, 1-6 NWC), it was far from a perfect game for Puget Sound. The Loggers committed 25 turnovers, matching their season-high from an early-December game against No. 1 Whitman.

On the flip side, the Loggers' 20 steals against Pacific Lutheran is the team's second-highest total this season (29 vs. Evergreen State). The Loggers also won the rebound battle, 55-39. Nearly half of the Loggers' rebounds were on the offensive end (27).

The Loggers return home to host Lewis & Clark this Friday, Jan. 19, at 8 p.m.
