Five Loggers score in double figures to beat Pioneers, 77-65

TACOMA, Washington – A strong fourth quarter secured the Puget Sound women's basketball team's second Northwest Conference win this week as the Loggers beat Lewis & Clark, 77-65, in Memorial Fieldhouse Friday night.

 

The Loggers (8-9, 3-5 NWC) shot 81.8 percent from the floor in the final 10 minutes, including hitting of their nine free-throw attempts. Jamie Lange tallied her 11th double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Four more Loggers scored in double figures. Cassidy Daugherty netted 14 points, and Elizabeth Prewitt added 13. Meghan Hamel finished with 12 points, and Mara Henderson came away with 10.

Puget Sound continue its dominance on the glass and outrebounded the Pioneers (9-7, 4-3 NWC), 45-32. The Loggers lead the conference in rebounds per game (44.6).

Puget Sound held two-point lead at halftime, 29-27, but the Loggers' halftime adjustments led to a 48-38 advantage in the second half.

The Loggers have a tough challenge next week when they travel to Whitman and Whitworth.
