NEWBERG, Oregon – Stellan Roberts neared a triple-double, and Jimmy Wohrer approached his career-high for points in a game, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost at George Fox, 108-106, in overtime Saturday night.

The Loggers (3-3, 0-2 NWC) opened the game in dominant fashion and led by 21 points, 40-19, midway through the first half. Puget Sound carried a 58-41 lead into halftime. Through the first 20 minutes, the Loggers shot 59 percent (23-for-39) from the floor, and 52.9 percent (9-for-17) from 3-point range. The Loggers also dominated on the glass, 23-10, in the first half.

The Bruins (5-2, 2-0 NWC) found their stroke in the second half. After shooting 3-for-14 (21.4 percent) from distance in the first half, George Fox shot 9-for-12 from beyond the arc in the second half. No 3-pointer was more important than JD Ahlstrom's buzzer-beating trey that sent the game into overtime, 94-94.

Although the Loggers shot 8-for-10 from the charity stripe in overtime, they did not hit a 3-point shot. The Bruins, on the other hand, made two of their 3-point attempts from distance in overtime.

Roberts filled the stat sheet with 19 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and a steal. Wohrer led all players in scoring with 34 points, which is two points shy of matching his career-high.

Freshman big man Cal Hansen pulled down a season-best 17 rebounds for the Loggers, including five on the offensive glass. Gabriel Chaikin finished with 17 points after shooting 5-for-10 from the floor, and Zion Shepherd totaled 10 points in 15 minutes off the bench.

The Loggers continue a three-game road stretch with a non-conference contest at Northwest Tuesday, Dec. 4. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
