Puget Sound stuns Whitworth with 3-2 road win

SPOKANE, Washington – The Puget Sound volleyball team handed Whitworth its first Northwest Conference loss of the season with a 3-2 (13-25, 26-24, 25-21, 20-25, 15-9) road win against the Pirates.

Puget Sound (7-6, 4-1 NWC) and Whitworth (10-5, 4-1 NWC) finish the night with identical conference records.

The young Logger team continues to impress with its veteran poise. Puget Sound dropped the first set by 12 points, but the Loggers refused to back down and they won the next two sets.

The Loggers totaled 10 blocks, including 2.5 by both Sadie Alloway and Melanie Siacotos.

Alli Reviglio led the Logger attack with eight kills, and Aliah Ayau totaled 24 assists. Sydness Voss and Sarah Blumenfeld tied for the team lead in digs with 12, each.

The Loggers look to keep it going at Whitman Saturday, Sept. 29, for a 5 p.m. start.
