Blumenfeld totals eight aces in 3-1 win over Linfield

Box Score

TACOMA, Washington – No Northwest Conference volleyball team has a better record than Puget Sound in its last six matches. The Loggers beat Linfield, 3-1 (25-20, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22), in Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday night.

It marks the Loggers' (11-9, 6-2 NWC) fifth win in six games, and it's the first time in five matches that Puget Sound didn't play into a fifth set.

Although Linfield (5-14, 1-6 NWC) outhit Puget Sound, the Loggers' strength was their service game. Puget Sound totaled a season-high 17 aces, including eight from Sarah Blumenfeld. She ranks second in the Northwest Conference with 38 aces, and Jordan Holman leads the NWC with 42.

Chloe Akiona-Bannan totaled a game-high 19 digs, and Holman followed with 17.

Puget Sound heads east next week for games at Whitman (Oct. 18) and Whitworth (Oct. 19).
