Goals by Roath and Cheatham lift Loggers over Boxers

TACOMA, Washington - Kylee Roath and Genevieve Cheatham each had a goal in the first half lifting the Puget Sound women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Pacific in Baker Stadium on Sunday afternoon. 

With the victory, the Loggers improved 8-3-1 overall and 6-1-1 in conference. The Boxers fell 3-7-1 overall and 1-6-1 in NWC. 

The Loggers had an early start in the 11th minute when Roath headed a corner kick from CeAnn Romanaggi that shot past the diving keeper into the middle of the net. 

In the 29th minute, Hayden Hotchkiss manuevered down the right sideline and found Cheatham with a crossing pass. Cheatham took one touch to tack on the insurance goal. 

Chaylea Tome had two saves in the contest for Puget Sound. 

The Loggers are on the road at Whitman on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 12 p.m.
