TACOMA, Washington – After shooting just 19.4-percent from the floor in the first half, the Puget Sound women's basketball team rallied for a 59-56 win over Northwest Christian in Memorial Fieldhouse Tuesday night. It was the first home game of the season for the Loggers.

Jamie Lange posted her second double-double in three games, as she finished with 11 points and 16 boards for the Loggers (2-1). Rebekah Dasalla also netted 11 points, and Gia Sorn totaled 10 points off the bench.

The Loggers tailed the Beacons (2-2) at halftime, 30-23, but Puget Sound came out of the locker room with a new game plan. Late in the third quarter, Sorn hit a layup off an assist from Dasalla to cut the Loggers' deficit to 37-33. The ensuing Beacons' possession ended in a turnover, and Georgia Lavinder quickly drilled a 3-pointer to bring the Loggers to within a point.

Northwest Christian answered with a basket to cushion its lead to three points, but Lavinder stayed hot and hit another trey to tie the game, 39-39, at the end of the third quarter.

The Loggers kept their foot the gas as the fourth quarter opened with a layup by Lange. The Beacons claimed a one-point lead, 42-41, after hitting a 3-pointer, and yet it was Lavinder who answered the call once more with a deep shot to give Puget Sound a 44-42 edge.

Sorn scored consecutive baskets down the stretch, and Cassidy Daugherty followed by hitting a 3-pointer that gave Puget Sound a 55-50 lead with 2:15 left in regulation.

The Loggers ended the game shooting 35.0 percent from the floor, and Puget Sound won on the glass, 44-42.

The Loggers welcome a nationally-ranked team to Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday, Nov. 30, when Puget Sound tips off against No. 23 Augsburg at 1 p.m.
