Box Score

OLYMPIA, Washington – Cal Hansen's late buckets sent the game into overtime, and the Puget Sound men's basketball team dominated in the extra period for a 72-66 win at Evergreen State Wednesday night.

The Loggers (6-3) were down 62-56 with 1:23 left in regulation, but Hansen scored six consecutive points for Puget Sound. The run began with a pair of free-throws, which was followed by a Geoduck (3-4) turnover.

Hansen then scored from the field off an assist from Stellan Roberts, cutting the deficit to 62-60 with 50 seconds left. Evergreen State missed a shot with 20 seconds remaining, leaving the door open for the Loggers.

Hansen took advantage of the opportunity and put back an offensive rebound just before the buzzer at the end of regulation.

The Geoducks scored just four points in the extra 10 minutes. Hansen gave Puget Sound a 68-66 edge with 1:03 left in overtime. The Loggers forced another turnover, and CJ Geather sealed the game with a two-point bucket and 24 seconds left.

Hansen notched his first double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Geathers scored a season-high 18 points by shooting 4-for-7 from 3-point range. Roberts – who entered the game as the Northwest Conference's leading scorer – finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.
