TACOMA, Washington – Cassidy Daugherty made a great one-on-one move to send the game into overtime, but the Puget Sound women's basketball team lost to Pacific Lutheran, 76-71, in Memorial Fieldhouse Tuesday night.

The Lutes (6-8, 1-4 NWC) took a 63-61 lead with four seconds left in regulation, and Puget Sound (7-7, 1-4 NWC) called timeout to advance the ball the half court. Daugherty received the inbounds pass in front of the Puget Sound bench, and she immediately drove to the lane where she hit a short jumper to send the Loggers and Lutes into an extra five minutes.

Ninety seconds into overtime the game was tied, 66-66, when Gia Sorn gave the Loggers a two-point lead with a smooth post move and 2:28 left in regulation. Georgia Lavinder improved that lead to 71-67 when she hit a 3-pointer from the right wing and 1:45 left.

However, the Lutes (6-8, 1-4 NWC) connected on two 3-pointers and a got a defensive stop to take a 73-71 lead. PLU held on to the lead for the rest of the game.

Through the game's 45 minutes, PLU attempted 28 free-throws to Puget Sound's six.

Jamie Lange finished one rebound shy of a double-double, totaling 14 points and nine boards. Daugherty scored a team-high 18 points. RaeAnn Allen scored 15 points to go with five rebounds and four assists, while Grace Pytynia-Hillier chipped in with 11 points.

The Loggers are in Portland Saturday, Jan. 18, to take on Lewis & Clark at 4 p.m.
