Box Score SALEM, Oregon – Jamie Lange tied her career-high in scoring to lead the Puget Sound women's basketball team to an 83-68 victory at Willamette Saturday evening. The win snaps the Loggers' five-game losing streak.
Lange totaled 33 points by shooting 12-for-18 from the floor and a perfect 9-for-9 from the foul line. Lange also pulled down 12 rebounds to come away with her 12th double-double of the season.
The last time Lange scored 33 points it was also against Willamette (Feb. 9, 2019). Lange is tied with Keely Running for the second-most 30-point games in a Puget Sound career. Annie Pettigrew holds the record with four 30-point games.
RaeAnn Allen came away with her first double-double of the season Saturday. She scored 10 points and added 11 rebounds. Cassidy Daugherty (13 points) and Mara Henderson (11 points) also scored in double figures for the Loggers (8-9, 2-6 NWC).
Puget Sound held a 39-35 lead at halftime, and the advantage increased by seven points after the third quarter. However, Willamette (10-7, 4-4 NWC) kept the fight going in the fourth quarter.
The Bearcats cut the Loggers' lead to 67-64 with 3:26 left in the fourth, but Rebekah Dasalla hit a big turnaround jumper to swing momentum back into the Loggers' favor. Henderson provided the dagger with a corner 3-pointer that gave the Loggers a 74-66 lead with 1:10 left in regulation.
Puget Sound returns to Memorial Fieldhouse to host Whitworth Friday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m.
