Daugherty, Lange lead Loggers past Pirates, 75-58

SPOKANE, Washington – Four Loggers scored in double figures and Jamie Lange recorded her seventh double-double of the season as the Puget Sound women's basketball team beat Whitworth, 75-58, Saturday evening.

Cassidy Daugherty led all players in scoring with 19 points while shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Lange netted 16 points and pulled down 17 rebounds, while RaeAnn added 13 points off the bench. Gia Sorn scored 10 points, marking her seventh double-digit scoring effort of the season.

The Loggers (7-4, 1-1 NWC) set the tone early by taking a 13-2 lead to start the game. Georgia Lavinder, Lange, and Daugherty each hit 3-pointers during the run.

Puget Sound led at halftime, 43-26.

The Loggers nearly doubled the Pirates' efforts on the boards, 44-24. And while Puget Sound shot 49.2-percent from the floor, the defense limited Whitworth to 37.3-percent.

Puget Sound hosts its first game of 2020 against Pacific Friday, Jan. 10, at 6 p.m.
