Henderson and Lange combine for 45 points to beat Linfield

McMINNVILLE, Oregon – Mara Henderson scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Puget Sound women's basketball team to an 83-61 victory at Linfield Friday night. The 22-point win is the Loggers' largest margin of victory in Northwest Conference action this season.

Henderson shot 7-for-15 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the free-throw line. She also added six rebounds and a couple of steals. Henderson is averaging 16.4 points in her five conference games this season.

Jamie Lange scored 23 points in the winning effort, and she grabbed seven rebounds. Lange shot 10-for-13 from the floor, although foul trouble limited her to just 17 minutes of action.

The Loggers (10-10, 4-7 NWC) broke the game open with a 9-2 run late in the first half, and they carried a 41-35 lead into the locker room.  

Overall, Puget Sound shot 8-for-17 from 3-point range and won on the glass, 34-25.

The Loggers remain in Oregon to take on Pacific Saturday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m.
