Lange records another double-double as Loggers beat Pacific, 53-50

FOREST GROVE, Oregon – It wasn't pretty, but the Puget Sound women's basketball team grinded out a 53-50 win at Pacific Saturday evening.

Jamie Lange tallied her 16th double-double of the season with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Mara Henderson added 10 points for the Loggers (11-10, 5-7 NWC).

Puget Sound shot 16-for-47 (34.0-percent) from the floor, and just 3-for-10 from 3-point range. The Boxers (14-7, 8-4 NWC) shot 35.1-percent overall.

After a 9-9 score at the end of the first quarter, the Loggers took a 24-17 lead into halftime.

Puget Sound held a 39-32 advantage early in the fourth quarter, but Pacific continued the fight and tied the game, 50-50, with 34 seconds left in regulation.

Coming out of a timeout, Henderson drew a foul and made one of two free-throws. The Loggers then earned a defensive stop, and Henderson sank two more free-throws to clinch the win.

Puget Sound continues its road stretch in Parkland, Washington, with a 6 p.m. tipoff at Pacific Lutheran Tuesday, Feb. 11.
