WALLA WALLA, Washington – Cal Hansen scored 16 points, and Paul Johnson added 11, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost at Whitman, 97-59, Friday night.

The Blues (1-2, 1-2 NWC) caught fire from 3-point range, connecting on more than half of their attempts from downtown (18-for-35). On the other side, Puget Sound went 4-for-15 from distance.

Hansen shot 7-for-14 from the floor, and Johnson was 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. Johnson also added a team-high seven rebounds.

Both teams committed 16 turnovers. Whitman outrebounded the Loggers, 40-27.

The Blues and Loggers go head-to-head once more Saturday, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m.
