The Loggers aim to take down more records - and the Bruins - this weekend

SPECTATOR POLICY

TACOMA, Washington –
The Puget Sound football team returns home to host George Fox Saturday, Oct. 16, for a 1 p.m. Northwest Conference kickoff in Baker Stadium.

The throne is theirs
Last week at Pacific senior wide receiver AJ Johnson set the Puget Sound record for most career receiving yards (2,976), and senior quarterback Murdock Rutledge set the school record for most passing touchdowns (60).

Not done yet
Johnson and Rutledge still have more records in sight. Rutledge is 72 completions away from matching the Braden Foley '15 career record of 613 completions, and Rutledge needs just 93 passing yards to tie the Hans Fortune '17 record of 6,852 career passing yards. Johnson is just 10 receptions away from tying Adam Kniffin '13 for the most career catches (263).

Washington's march
Silas Washington has six rushing touchdowns in five games this season. It is already the most rushing touchdowns in a season since Paul Thomas ran for six scores in nine games during the 2017 season. Rory Lee '07 holds the Puget Sound with 20 rushing touchdowns in a season.

Bear trap
The last time the Loggers and Bruins went head-to-head was during Puget Sound's 2019 Homecoming Weekend. AJ Johnson had 11 catches for 63 yards, and Silas Washington scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime. The Loggers won, 24-23, when the Bruins missed a point-after kick in overtime.

Scouting George Fox (2-2, 2-0 NWC)
The Bruins have conference wins against Willamette and Pacific Lutheran, to go along with non-conference losses against Redlands and Chapman. Although George Fox averages just 3.0 yards per carry, the Bruins still don't shy away from the ground game and attempt just over 30 carries per game. Ethan Kassebaum leads the team in rushing yards with 214. Quarterback Halden Schaan has 755 passing yards and five touchdown passes to match five interceptions. Adam Hawker is the team's leading receiver with 12 catches for 179 yards.
