The second half of the NWC season begins on the road

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound volleyball team begins the second half of its Northwest Conference season at Lewis & Clark and Linfield this weekend (Oct. 15-16).
 
Building on the streak
The Loggers are currently riding a three-game winning streak. This victories have come against Whitman, George Fox, and Willamette.
 
The second time around
The Loggers beat both Lewis & Clark and Linfield in Memorial Fieldhouse earlier this season (Sept. 17-18). Puget Sound won those matches in four sets, each. Katherine Carley had 14 kills against the Pioneers, and Avery Allemann put away 13 kills against the Wildcats.
 
Go ahead, get defensive
Avery Allemann was named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for defense following the Loggers' home wins against George Fox and Willamette (Oct. 8-9). She totaled six blocks against the Bruins, and she added two more against the Bearcats. Allemann's 36 blocks this season trails only Katherine Carley's 51 for Puget Sound.
 
Dynamic as ever
Jordan Holman leads the Loggers in both kills (162) and digs (182). She matched her career-high in kills with 18 at Pacific (Sept. 24).
 
The magic number is .200
Puget Sound has a 9-1 record when it posts a .200 attack percentage or better. Katherine Carley's .320 attack percentage leads the Loggers (min. 10 matches).
 
Scouting Lewis & Clark (6-7, 4-3 NWC)
The Pioneers have won four of their last five matches, including sweeps against Whitman and Pacific. The team is hitting at a .190 clip, with Izzy Willis (149 kills) and Kelsey Parker (144 kills) leading the offense. At the net, Kate Kimbro has 22 blocks and Emma Ehlers closely follows with 21.
 
Scouting Linfield (4-10, 0-9 NWC)
The Wildcats are still in search of their first conference win, and two of their nine NWC losses are via forfeit. Linfield carries just a .130 attack percentage, while allowing opponents to hit .163. Raelynn Hammock has a team-high 158 kills, and Ellie Mead leads Linfield in blocks with 36.
