Holman, Loggers snap losing streak with win at Whitman

WALLA WALLA, Washington – Jordan Holman recorded her sixth double-double of the year to lead the Puget Sound volleyball team to a four-set victory (25-19, 25-27, 25-20, 25-19) at Whitman Saturday evening. The win ended a three-match losing streak.

Holman led the Loggers (9-5, 3-3 NWC) in kills with 13, and she added 12 digs. Samantha Johnson notched a team-high 23 digs. Three Loggers posted double-digit assists: Jenna Miller (11), Aliah Ayau (11), and Sarah Blumenfeld (13).

After splitting the first two sets, the Loggers raced out to a 9-2 lead in the third set. The early run featured consecutive kills by Logan Winn. Whitman (4-11, 2-4 NWC) fought back to tied it up, 16-16.

Several miscues by the Blues allowed Puget Sound to claim a 21-17 lead and eventually win the set.

The Loggers return home Friday, Oct. 8, to host George Fox at 7 p.m.
