Puget Sound hosts George Fox, Pacific this weekend

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team returns home to take on George Fox (Oct. 30) and Pacific (Oct. 31) this weekend. Both matches start at 2:30 pm on East Field.
 
Home sweet home
The Loggers are 3-2-1 at home this season, including a 2-1-1 home record against Northwest Conference  post a winning and overall record of 3-2-1 at home and are 2-1-1 against conference opponents.

Leading the way
Marko Babiak (6), Cale Spence (5), and Ryan Smith (5) are the go-to scoring options up front for the Loggers. Spence scored the most recent goal out that trio, finding the back of the net at Whitworth (Oct. 24). 

Two for Matheny
Andrew Matheny is second in the conference in both saves (46) and shutouts (4).

Career firsts
Riley Reisner and Adam Schmidt both scored their first-career goals at Whitman last week (Oct. 23).  

Scouting George Fox (5-10, 3-8 NWC)
The Bruins are coming off a 2-1 win against Linfield. George Fox and Puget Sound last met on Sept. 19, with the Loggers winning 1-0 courtesy of Cale Spence. George Fox comes into this match bringing eight different scorers on the season. The Bruins are two spots below the Loggers in the conference standings,
 
Scouting Pacific (6-8-2, 3-6-2 NWC)
The Boxers enter the weekend with a recent loss against Willamette, 2-1. The Loggers and Boxers tied 1-1 on Sept. 18, when Ryan Smith came up big in the 87th minute to give Puget Sound a result. Pacific also has a bevy of scorers on the season (11). Noah Edwards is second in the conference in assists with six.
