TACOMA, Washington – The Northwest Conference's only two unbeaten women's soccer teams go head-to-head when Puget Sound hosts No. 18 Pacific Lutheran Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m. in Baker Stadium.

Rivalry renewed
Wednesday is the first of two regular-season meetings between the Loggers (9-0-1, 5-0-1 NWC) Â and Lutes (10-0, 6-0 NWC). During the 2021 spring season, Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran clashed four times. The Loggers won three of those four contests by a combined score of 6-1. Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran have accounted for each of the last 18 NWC titles, with the Loggers winning the NWC crown 15 times during that stretch.

Unbeaten streak
The last time Puget Sound was unbeaten through its first 10 games of the season was in 2015. That Logger squad posted an overall record of 17-0-5, and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.Â

In the cards
Tess Carden was named the Logger of the Week after helping to lead Puget Sound to road wins at Willamette and Linfield (Oct. 2-3). Carden's first goal of the season stood as the game-winner at Linfield, and she added two assists for the weekend.

Two for four
Kylee Roath and
Genny Jilka are tied for the team lead in scoring with four goals, each. Roath netted a goal at both Willamette and Linfield this past weekend, and Jilka also scored against the Bearcats.

You shall not pass
Chaylea Tome as played every minute in goal for the Loggers this season, and she has eight shutouts in 10 games. Tome enters Wednesday's game with a 0.19 goals-against average and 30 total saves.

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (10-0-0, 6-0-0 NWC)
Ranked No. 18 in the country by United Soccer Coaches, the Lutes are outscoring the opposition 27-2 so far this season. Of its 10 wins, only two have been decided by just one goal (Pacific, Wheaton). Hannah Cecil has contributed five goals on the season, and Ellie Reardon has assisted on goals five different times. The Lutes have a bevy of weapons as, seven different have recorded two or more goals this fall.
