Loggers set to play under the lights at Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Washington – The men's soccer team will play under the lights at Pacific Lutheran Friday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.

True rivals
In addition to campus proximity, recent history between Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran has been relatively close. Dating back to the 2014 season, the Loggers are 8-7-1 against the Lutes. The teams met four times in the spring of 2021, with each side earning two head-to-head wins.

Double trouble
Marko Babiak and Cale Spence are tied for the team-lead in scoring with four goals, each. They each also have a game-winning goal to their credit.

The sleeper
While Marko Babiak and Cale Spence draw most of the opposing defense's attention, Ryan Smith has been able to find plenty of opportunity. Smith has tried a team-high 27 shots, 15 of which are on goal. Smith has three goals this season.

Don't be shy
Puget Sound is unbeaten (2-0-2) when it attempts 15 or more shots in a game.

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (9-2, 6-0 NWC)
The Lutes are riding a six-game winning streak into Friday's contest, all of which are conference wins. Craig Johnson is the focal point of the offense, as he has six goals and five assists. Brandt Kelly has five goals this season, and Keeton Heggerness has four.
