Schell, Loggers take down first-place Lutes

Box Score PARKLAND, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team defeated Pacific Lutheran Friday night as Cole Haupt set up Lincoln Schell in the 34thminute to give the Loggers a 1-0 win on the road.

With Schell's goal, the Loggers (4-4-2, 3-3-2 NWC) ended the Lutes' consecutive shutout streak of 605 minutes. It was also the first goal given up by the Lutes in Northwest Conference play. On the season, Pacific Lutheran (9-3-0, 6-1-0 NWC) has allowed only six goals in all competitions.

Puget Sound goalkeeper Andrew Matheny came up with seven big saves. The Lutes entered Firiday night's match averaging three goals per game.

The Loggers get a bit of a breather before they look to keep momentum going when they take on Linfield at home, Saturday, Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m.
