TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's basketball team's five-game winning streak will best tested in Portland this weekend when the Loggers take on Walla Walla (Nov. 27) and Cal Lutheran (Nov. 28) as part of the Lewis & Clark Tournament.

California dreamin'
Puget Sound's first road trip of the year was in California last weekend (Nov. 19-21), where the Loggers earned wins over Caltech, 73-54, and Whittier, 63-44.

The Loggers' average margin of victory is 17.6 points. The biggest difference was against Multnomah, 86-62 (Nov. 12).

Sophie Nilsson is averaging 17.5 points per game, which leads Puget Sound and ranks third in the Northwest Conference. Her 48.8 field-goal percentage is fifth in the NWC.

Getting it done on defense
Katie Minnehan leads the NWC in steals with 3.6 per game. She is the only player averaging more than 2.5 steals.
Sophie Nilsson averages 1.2 blocks per game, which ranks third in the NWC. Puget Sound is averaging 15 steals per game – it is the only NWC team averaging more than 10.

Double double-double
Sophie Nilsson and
Samantha Swartout both notched their first double-doubles of the season at Caltech (Nov. 19). Nilsson dropped 16 points and pulled down 10 boards,while Swartout scored 15 points to go with 10 rebounds.

Scouting Walla Walla (0-4)
Competing in the NAIA's Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), the Wolves are winless in four outings this season. Each of Walla Walla's losses is by double digits, including a couple of losses by more than 20 points. Carolina Montes scored 20 points in the Wolves' most recent game against Lewis & Clark State (Nov. 23).

Scouting Cal Lutheran (1-0)
Out of the NCAA D-III Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the Regals won their season-opener against Willamette, 62-59 (Nov. 23). Patil Yaacoubian scored a game-high 16 points off the bench. Cameron Mallory finished with 11 points, and Grace Godines added 10. Cal Lutheran outrebounded Willamette, 42-37. The Regals take on Lewis & Clark the day before playing the Loggers.
