KIRKLAND, Washington – Cal Hansen recorded his second double-double of the season, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost at Northwest, 70-66, Saturday evening.

Hansen tallied 22 points and 16 rebounds for the Loggers (3-4). It's Hansen's most rebounds in a game since he pulled down 18 against George Fox Jan. 26, 2019.

Paul Johnson netted 20 points against the Eagles (3-2), and
Will Mathews added 11 points with seven boards.
Grant Erickson matched Mathews' seven boards, and he scored eight points. Puget Sound won on the glass, 44-33.

Puget Sound trailed 36-35 at halftime, and it fell behind, 56-50, midway through the second half. From there, however, a basket in the paint by Mathews sparked a 6-0 run to tie the game, 56-56.

The run was halted when the Eagles hit a 3-pointer, and Puget Sound trailed for the final eight minutes of the game.

The Northwest Conference slate begins at home Friday, Dec. 3, when the Loggers host Linfield at 8 p.m.
