Box Score TACOMA, Washington – Freshman duo Jordyn Reverman and Kennedy Brown both scored nine fourth-quarter points to lead the Puget Sound women's basketball team to its first win of the 2020-21 year. The Loggers beat Pacific Lutheran, 72-60, in Memorial Fieldhouse Saturday night.
Although the Loggers (1-3, 1-3 NWC) led for the majority of the game, the Lutes (1-4, 1-4 NWC) always kept it close.
Puget Sound entered the final quarter with a 49-42 lead, but a PLU 3-pointer midway through cut the lead to 55-50. Shortly after, Reverman came up with a pair of big offensive rebounds. The second of boards she put up back for two points, giving the Loggers a 60-50 advantage with just over four minutes on the clock.
PLU fought back to make it 62-56, but one minute later Brown drilled a 3-pointer to make it a 67-56 lead with 1:46 on the clock.
Brown and Reverman both went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in the final 45 seconds of the game.
Brown finished with a game-high 20 points to along with six rebounds. Reverman totaled 16 points and nine boards, while Katie Minnehan added 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Loggers are scheduled to travel to Spokane, Washington next week to take on Whitworth, Feb. 12-13.
