Puget Sound falls in three sets at Whitworth

SPOKANE, Washington – The Puget Sound volleyball team began a three-match weekend at Whitworth with a three-set loss Friday night.

The Loggers nearly claimed the first set after a 17-12 deficit. A 4-1 run by the Loggers, aided by a few Whitworth errors, allowed Puget Sound to pull within 18-16. A few points later, Alli Reviglio put away a kill to make the score 21-20 in favor of the Pirates. From there, however, the Loggers committed a couple of errors of their own to allow Whitworth to claim its first set.

Melanie Siacotos led the Loggers in kills with seven, while Jordan Holman and Alli Reviglio each had six. Sarah Blumenfeld came away with eight assists and a couple of service aces.

The Loggers and Pirates play each other twice Saturday, March 12. The first match is at 10 a.m., and the second is at 5 p.m
