Loggers get a fortunate bounce in 1-0 win over Whitworth

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's soccer team finished its 2020-21 conference slate with a win over Whitworth – even though nobody technically scored a goal Saturday in Baker Stadium.

In the 70th minute of a scoreless game, Tess Carden lined up to take a corner for the Logger. Her delivery into the box was headed in by a Pirates defender for the game's only goal.

Chaylea Tome made three saves for the Logger, earning her sixth shutout of the season.

The Loggers outshot Whitworth, 8-5. But only one of the Loggers' shots was on frame. Ava Cholakian led the Loggers' offensive efforts with a game-high four shots.
