Jilka, Roath find the back of the net in 2-1 win over Bruins

NEWBERG, Oregon – Kylee Roath's second goal of the season stole momentum away from George Fox and stood as the game-winner when the Puget Sound women's soccer team beat the Bruins, 2-1, on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Loggers (6-0-1, 2-0-1 NWC) held a 1-0 into the 74th minute when George Fox (4-3, 2-1 NWC) broke through to tie the game. It was the first surrendered by Chaylea Tome this season. Tome started the campaign with 633 consecutive shutout minutes.

Less than two minutes after George Fox scored, however, Roath found the back of the net off a free kick.

Genny Jilka netted her third goal of the season in the 30th minute, drilling a shot from the right side into the upper corner.

The Loggers will have their unbeaten record tested at Pacific Sunday, Sept. 26, at 12 p.m.
