SPOKANE, Washington – Paul Johnson scored 20 points and Grant Erickson neared a double-double, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost at No. 20 Whitworth, 93-77, Friday night.
 
Johnson shot 8-for-14 from the floor and 4-for-6 from 3-point range to net at least 20 points for the sixth time this season. Erickson scored 12 points and pulled down seven boards for the Loggers (7-7, 2-3 NWC).
 
The Loggers shot 48.5-percent from the floor against the nationally-ranked Pirates (10-2, 3-1 NWC), and both teams committed just 12 turnovers.
 
Puget Sound next takes on Whitman Saturday, Jan. 15, at 6 p.m.
