NEWBERG, Oregon – Grant Erickson pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds, and
Paul Johnson scored a team-high 24 points, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost at George Fox, 70-59, Friday night.

The Loggers (8-10, 3-6 NWC) held a 35-32 lead at halftime, but George Fox (10-8, 5-4 NWC) put together a late second-half run to come away with the win.

The Bruins claimed a 49-43 lead eight minutes into the second half, but a layup by Johnson followed by a 3-pointer from
Will Pohland made it a one-point game. The Loggers took a 50-49 lead when
Taj Phillips hit a jumper midway through the second half.

Both sides continued to trade buckets until the Bruins went on a 9-2 run that started with just under five minutes left in regulation.

Phillips nearly came away with a double-double by scoring eight points to go with 10 rebounds.
Cal Hansen scored 12 points and finished with seven boards for the Loggers.

Puget Sound remains on the road to take on Linfield Saturday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.
