SPOKANE, Washington – The Puget Sound women's soccer team won its third consecutive game with a 2-1 victory at Whitworth Saturday afternoon.
Ava Cholakian scored her eighth goal of the season to give the Loggers a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute. The Pirates failed to clear the ball out of their backfield, and Cholakian made them pay.
Puget Sound held that 1-0 lead at halftime, and the Loggers added to it in the 73
rd minute. Whitworth committed another miscue and
Zoe Fowler corralled the ball. She delivered a through-ball to
Radhika Webster Schultz, who then scored her third goal of the season.
Whitworth netted its only goal in the 79
th minute.
The Loggers remain in eastern Washington for a game at Whitman Sunday, Oct. 2, at 12 p.m.
