TACOMA, Washington – Graham Hall and
Stuart Methner kept pace with each other as the leading scorers for the Puget Sound men's soccer team, as both netted a goal during the Loggers' 2-0 win over Pacific in Baker Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Â
Although the Loggers dominated possession in the first half, the first 45 minutes ended in a scoreless tie.
Â
Puget Sound's relentless pressure paid off in the 68
th minute when
Shane Ivich drew a foul in the 18-yard box. Hall took the penalty kick. His initial attempt was saved, but Hall beat the keeper to the loose ball and buried his fourth goal of the season.
Â
In the 83
rd minute,
Jake Aigner attacked the goal from the right side, and he crossed the ball to the middle of the box. That's where Methner was waiting to drill his fourth goal of the year.
Â
Ryan Saunders made three saves to record his fifth shutout of the season.
Â
The Loggers travel east next weekend to take on Whitworth (Oct. 22) and Whitman (Oct. 23).
