Northwest Scholars Series
The 2022 season opened with the first-ever Northwest Scholars Series game between the Loggers and Pioneers (Sept. 3). Lewis & Clark won the non-conference game, 41-15, in Portland.

Amarian Culpepper leads the Loggers in tackles (44.0), and he is tied with
Tyler Evars for the most pass breakups (3). Culpepper also has a blocked punt to his credit, which happened last week at George Fox.

A leg up
Alex Everett averages 39.0 yards per punt, which is only 2.1 yards off from the conference leader. His season-high 58-yard punt also ranks third in the NWC. His punting average has improved by more than three yards compared to last year.

Scouting Lewis & Clark
The Pioneers are just a hair away from being tied for the second-highest scoring offense in the NWC. The Pioneers average 34.6 points per game, while George Fox averages 34.7 points. Lewis & Clark bounced back from consecutive losses to Whitworth and Pacific Lutheran by beating Willamette, 39-17, in its most recent game (Oct. 15). Dyontae Navarrete (296 yards) and Elijah Washington (242 yards) lead the rushing game, while quarterback Cruz Montana has 1,132 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes. The defense has totaled 16.0 sacks, including a team-high 4.0 by Sam Meinhard.
