Homecoming football game is this Saturday against Pacific

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound football team hosts its Homecoming game against Pacific Saturday, October 8, at 1 p.m.
 
Homecoming success
The Loggers are 5-1 in their last six Homecoming games. However, Puget Sound has lost five consecutive games against Pacific.
 
Sacks for Sayavong
Fifth-year senior Ezekiel Sayavong has two sacks this season, one of which went for a safety at No. 7 Linfield last week (Oct. 1). He had 3.5 sacks through 10 games in the 2021 season.
 
Freshman rising
First-year wideout Joe Gallagher has a team-high 16 receptions for 137 yards. Gallagher came up with a season-high nine catches at No. 7 Linfield (Oct. 1).
 
Just Jerenz
Izaiah Jerenz entered the 2022 season as the Loggers' top returning receiver from last year. He had 401 receiving yards in 2021, and he's up to a team-high 151 yards through three games in 2022.  
 
Leaning on Washington, O-line
Silas Washington has 77 carries for a conference-leading 315 yards in three games this season. He also has five rushing touchdowns. Washington led the NWC in rushing yards with 1,235 in 2021, and he had a conference-best 16 rushing touchdowns.
 
Take 'em down
Amarian Culpepper led the Loggers in tackles (54) as a freshman last year. He enters this weekend as the team-leader in tackles with 23.
 
Scouting Pacific (2-1, 1-0 NWC)
The Boxers began their NWC season with a 35-0 triumph over Willamette last week (Oct. 1). Pacific has a couple of viable threats in the ground game with Kash Taylor (218 rushing yards) and Brody Bantolina (142 rushing yards). Both rank top-10 in the NWC for total rushing yards this season. Quarterback Ryan Helt is completing just 58.1-percent of his attempts, but he has seven touchdowns to just one interception. Isaiah Pitre has a team-leading 19 catches for 237 yards. Defensively, Deshaye Stevens and Rustin Williams both have 1.5 sacks, and four different Boxers have an interception.
