Cholakian nets another hat trick to beat Willamette

Box Score TACOMA, Washington - Ava Cholakian tallied her third hat trick of the season to lead the Puget Sound women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Lewis & Clark during Homecoming weekend Saturday.

In the 15th minute, Rylee MacLennan made a quick pass to Cholakian - who received the ball on the right side of the goal. Cholakian drilled a low shot into the back of the net.

Cholakian scored again just four minutes later. Willamette was unable to clear a pass from Misha Tasaka, and Cholakian corralled the loose ball and beat the keeper for her second score.

The third and last goal of the afternoon was assisted by Emily O'Neil, who passed the ball to the right side of the goal. Cholakian once again did the honors.

Cholakian is up to 12 goals this season, which is the most by a Logger since Amalia Acorda-Fey scored 14 in 2015.

The Puget Sound defense allowed just one shot on goal, and the Loggers claimed their eighth shutout of the season.

Puget Sound hosts Pacific Sunday, Oct. 9, at 12 p.m.
