TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team heads to southern California for the David Wells Classic, Nov. 25-26, hosted by Claremont-M-S. The Loggers tipoff against CMS Friday at 4:30 p.m., and take on No. 12 Pomona-Pitzer Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Taj Phillips was named the Logger of the Week after he had the game-winning steal and assist against Cal Lutheran (Nov. 18), followed by his first-career double-double against Montana State University Northern (Nov. 19).

Liam Ruttledge is Puget Sound's leading scorer through four games, averaging 15.3 points in 20.5 minutes. He is shooting 52.2-percent from beyond the arc, connecting on 3.0 3-pointers per game.

Mussie Teclemariam has two double-doubles through four game this season. He averages a team-best 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52.5-percent from the floor.

Will Pohland is shooting a team-high 66.7-percent from the floor this season. He has scored in double digits three times, and enters this weekend a scoring average of 9.5 points.

Scouting Claremont-M-S (3-1)
The Stags began the season with three consecutive wins before losing to St. Thomas (Texas). The CMS wins include Lewis & Clark and George Fox. The Stags average 87.0 points per game, with Josh Angle averaging a team-high 24.0 points. Kiran Kruse is the second-leading scorer with 17.5 points per game. Three more Stags average double digits in scoring.

The Sagehens are nationally-ranked in the D3hoops.com preseason poll, but they are 1-3 to start the season. The team averages 69.3 points per game while shooting 37.1-percent from the floor. Brendan Mora leads the offensive efforts with 19.3 points per game, and he's the team-leader in rebounding (9.0).
