TACOMA, Washington – Twenty-one seniors will be celebrated during the Puget Sound football team's 2022 home finale against Pacific Lutheran Saturday, Nov. 5. Kickoff is at 1 p.m., and the senior ceremony begins at approximately 12:40 p.m.

Senior sendoff
Puget Sound celebrates the following seniors this weekend: Jaylen Antoine, Jack Bonicatto, Blake Cole, Gerard DeZutti, Alex Everett, Kyler Greenway, Ismael Gutierrez, Izaiah Jerenz, Ethan Kearns, Austin Knight, Trevino Lewis Jr., Dan Marlow, Alex Meadowcroft, Jonah Medelsohn, Jack Powers, Ezekiel Sayavong, Jackson Skaff, Lucas Varela, Silas Washington, Isaiah Williams, Quinn Williamson

Gotta catch 'em all
Freshman Joe Gallagher is the only Northwest Conference player with more than 50 receptions (53) this season. After starting his collegiate career with seven catches through two games, Gallagher has at least eight receptions in each of the last five contests – totaling 46 during that stretch. In fact, if one were to omit Gallagher's first two games, he would still be the NWC leader in receptions.

Big playmaker
Senior Izaiah Jerenz ranks fifth in the NWC for receiving yards per game (71.6), and his 39 total receptions also rank fifth. He had a career-high 122 receiving yards against Lewis & Clark two weeks ago (Oct. 22).

Running for another crown
Silas Washington is on pace to repeat as the conference's leading rusher. After totaling 1,235 yards on the ground last year, Washington has a conference-leading 640 rushing yards this year. He averages 91.4 rushing yards per game, while no other NWC player averages so much as 80. Sean Miller, Josiah Jordan, George Fournier, Jackson Dennis, Calyb Sauoa-to'a, and Caleb Puapuaga have been crucial on the offensive line.

Sack attack
Ezekiel Sayavong ranks seventh in the NWC with four sacks, and he has also forced two fumbles.

Pick 'em
First-year Logger Matai Suitonu has a team-high two interceptions. Those picks came against George Fox and Whitworth.

Recent history
Puget Sound is 4-1 in its last five games against the Lutes. The Loggers' four-game win streak over PLU was snapped last year with a 33-0 final score. The Lutes up 21 fourth-quarter points in that game.

Scouting Pacific Lutheran (5-3, 4-1 NWC)
PLU's lone conference loss this season is against Linfield, but its wins include George Fox and Whitworth. The offense scores 25.6 points per game (sixth in the NWC), but it has the second-best scoring defense in the conference (17.9 points per game). The Lutes have a conference-best 30 sacks, and their nine interceptions rank second. Kord Tuttle has six sacks, while Nico Golla and Aiden Shroyer both have five. Quarterback Erik Bainter has thrown 17 touchdown passes this season, with John Walker on the receiving end of nine of those touchdowns. Rayson Motoyama is the team's leading rusher with 346 yards, averaging 3.8 yards per carry.
