Even start to conference
The Loggers began their Northwest Conference with a home win over Whitworth, 82-75, followed by a loss against Whitman, 66-62 (Dec. 2-3). The weekend marked Puget Sound's second win over Whitworth since March 2009.

Not lost among the trees
Puget Sound point guard
Taj Phillips stands at 5-9, but he has two double-doubles this season. Phillips scored 18 points and grabbed 11 boards against Montana State University-Northern (Nov. 19), and he finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Whitworth (Dec. 2).

Liam lights 'em up
Liam Ruttledge is shooting 51.2-percent from 3-point range, which ranks third in the Northwest Conference. He has hit at least three 3-pointers in five games this season.

The Moose is loose
Mussie Teclemariam had a big start to the NWC season, scoring 20 points against Whitworth and 15 points against Whitman. He shot 50-percent from the floor (12-for-24) between the two games.

Scouting Millsaps (1-7)
The Majors make home in Jackson, Mississippi, and they are a member of the Southern Athletic Association (NCAA D-III). Doug Watson is the team's leading scorer with 13.5 points per game, and Rodney Phillips averages 11.0 points. Millsaps is shooting just 26.4-percent from 3-point range this season. The Majors commit 14.8 turnovers per game, and dish out only 7.0 assists, on average.
