SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Kennedy Brown scored a team-high 24 points, but the No. 20/14 Puget Sound women's basketball team came up short at No. 3/3 Trinity (Tex.), 78-69, Wednesday afternoon.

The Tigers clung to a 30-28 lead at halftime, but the third quarter turned into a track meet that favored Puget Sound.

Trinity opened the second half by pushing its lead to 39-31, but a pair of free-throws by Brown was the start of an 11-0 run for the Loggers. The run was capped off with a

The Loggers shot 64.3-percent from the floor in the third, including 55.6-percent from 3-point range. Trinity did well to keep pace in the third quarter by shooting 52.6-percent from the floor, but the Loggers carried a 57-54 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Tigers took a 61-59 lead a little less than two minutes into the fourth quarter, and they led for the rest of the game.

Brown finished the game 4-for-9 from 3-point range, and Nilsson was 4-for-7 from distance. Nilsson notched her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
