FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Paul Johnson,
Cal Hansen, and
Mussie Teclemariam combined for 50 points, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team lost its season finale at Pacific, 81-75, Saturday night.

Johnson scored a game-high 23 points, marking his 12
th game this season with at least 20 points. Hansen shot 7-for-10 from the floor on his way to 14 points, and Teclemariam scored 13 points off the bench.

Pacific (11-14, 7-9 NWC) held a commanding 42-28 lead at halftime, and its advantage grew to 65-40 midway through the first half. However, a bucket in the paint by
Taj Phillips sparked a remarkable 14-0 run by the Loggers (9-16, 4-12 NWC).

The run was capped off by a 3-pointer from Teclemariam, cutting the deficit to 65-54 with 4:37 on the clock.

The Loggers got to within single digits, 70-63, when Johnson capitalized on a three-point play with 2:37 left in regulation. But Pacific quickly bumped its lead back to double digits.
