Logger lacrosse returns to action at Whitworth

TACOMA, Washington – After a 10 day break of competition, the Puget Sound lacrosse team returns to the field at Whitworth Saturday, March 12, for a Northwest Conference game that starts at 1 p.m. The Loggers stay on the road for another NWC game at Whitman Sunday, March 13, also at 1 p.m.

The Loggers began the 2022 season with a 17-11 road win over Linfield (Feb. 26), but they lost their home opener against George Fox, 16-6 (March 2).
 
Like a river
Emily LaRiviere's smooth attacking has resulted in eight goals through the first two games of the season. She ranks 10th in the NWC scoring – and she is the only top-10 scorer to have played no more than two games this season.  
 
Busy Bee
Beatrice Bridge leads the Loggers in draw controls with eight this season. She nabbed a team-high 44 draw controls through 10 games last year.
 
Take care
Puget Sound is averaging only 13 turnovers per game – the best mark in the NWC.
 
Scouting Whitworth (2-2, 1-1 NWC)
The Pirates have a 13-7 conference win over Pacific under their belt, but they lost at Willamette, 17-3. Maddison Perry is the team's leading scorer with nine goals, and Kenzie Hemman has seven goals. Kylee Walker has a team-high three assists. Between the pipes, Sage Fosnock has a team-high 143 minute played while carrying an 11.75 goals-against average.
 
Scouting Whitman (2-1, 1-1 NWC)
The Blues have a 20-10 conference win over Pacific, and a suffered an 18-15 conference loss against Willamette. Gracie Maulik leads the NWC in scoring with 18 goals, and Erin Magnuson has 16 goals. Madeline Sherry ranks second in the NWC for assists with nine. Goalkeeper Sophia Maroulis has a 9.00 GAA.
